Ginger Papaya Smoothie - A creamy papaya smoothie recipe with a kick. Healthy, delicious and incredibly easy to make.
I’ve been fighting a pesky flu lately, and every time I think it’s finally over it seems to come back. It’s just so irritating, especially because I have really been trying to get back into the gym. Getting into the routine of exercising everyday is extremely difficult for me and I can easily come up with a million excuses not to hit the gym, therefore I just get so frustrated that as soon as I finally am able to force myself into some kind of routine I seem to get a nasty cold (maybe it’s just a sign that I should give up exercising).
So I decided maybe I should try do something about it, other than just popping meds, and attempt to build up my immune system. I started to drink this smoothie everyday and I don’t know if it’s my imagination but it really feels like it’s doing the trick.
The smoothie contains a whole bunch of healthy ingredients. The main ingredient being papaya which in itself is a great immune booster as it contains a large amount of vitamin C (containing up to 200% of your daily requirement). Papaya also has many non flu related benefits such as aiding in reducing cholesterol and stress. It also has great weight loss benefits due to the low amount of calories it contains and the high amount of fibre.
Other ingredients in this magnificent smoothie also has crazy health benefits, such as raspberries which are extremely high in a wide range of antioxidants. Pineapple which has anti-inflammatory properties. Lastly but definitely not least, ginger. Ginger is truly a super ingredient, I myself use ginger as my go to for literally everything. If your feeling a little nauseas, drink some ginger tea, if your tummy is runny, drink some ginger ale… the list goes on and on. So adding a bit of ginger to your daily smoothie can definitely not do any harm. Ginger helps your body to absorb nutrients and has been proven to even improve brain functioning and protect against Alzheimer’s disease.
The thing with smoothies is that you can literally just chuck all these super foods into the blender and voila you have health in a glass! You can almost never go wrong, no matter what you throw into your blender. So if you don’t have all the ingredients for this vegan papaya smoothie, don’t give up, simply substitute the ingredient for something similar or your favourite fruit.
Ginger Papaya Smoothie
- 2 Medium Papayas pitted & chopped.
- 1 cup Raspberries.
- ¼ Small Pineapple.
- Fresh ginger to taste not everyone can handle ginger.
- 1 Cup milk of choice I used almond Milk.
- Optional: 2 Tablespoons greek yoghurt.
- 1.5 Cups of Ice.
- Berries to top.
- Plug in blender.
- Throw Ingredients in blender.
- Close Blender.
- Turn on blender.
- Blend till smooth.
- Pour into glass.
- Feel the health.
