“There’s nothing peanut butter and a spoon can’t fix”
When I got home yesterday after a job interview, I felt completely knackered so I decided to make these peanut butter bars to power me up a bit and also to have something sweet. I always crave sugar when I feel tired, it really is my downfall in life because I’ll end up pigging out the whole day instead eating something that really would actually give me some energy.
These bars are really perfect for if you just need an energy boost or even as a dessert substitute. They are very high in protein, gluten-free, sugar free and vegan.
They are incredibly easy to make as well. You just chuck the ingredients into your mixer, blend and let them set a bit in a pan. Honestly I normally don’t even turn them into bars, I just eat the dough as is, or I roll the dough into balls. As you can tell I am actually a bit of a lazy baker, most of my recipes involve no more than chucking into blenders or mixers and consuming. Because nobody has time to slave away all day, especially to make healthy food. Health foods have to be the easiest to make, otherwise (and I speak from experience) you are much rather just going to grab that packet of chips or quickly get some McDonalds.
These peanut butter protein bars are a bit different to what you would normally expect of a bar, they tend to be a bit softer and chewier. But they do the trick. They are satisfying to a sweet tooth like me, and they are also perfect for the gym bunnies who really enjoy their protein.
