Ingredients and Notes
- Green beans. Try and use the freshest green beans you can to make this recipe. Fresh green beans are sweet and crisp! If fresh green beans aren't available you can use frozen beans but I recommend making this dish with fresh beans if possible.
- Bacon. Cook your bacon until it is golden and crispy for best results. Once the bacon is cooked you can dice it to add to the crack green beans.
- Onion. You can use brown or white onions for this recipe. Shallots can also be used instead if preferred.
- Lemon juice. Balances out the flavor of the dish and adds some zesty freshness.
- Garlic. Fresh garlic is always best!
- Brown sugar. This is what gives the sauce its sweet, stickiness. I use light brown sugar - but you can use any type that you have.
- Soy sauce. I use low sodium soy sauce - but you can use any type you best prefer.
- Salt & pepper. Season the dish according to your personal preference - bear in mind that soy sauce and bacon are salty ingredients!
