Oat milk is a milk substitute that thickens and gets creamy when heated, which is why it is perfect for lattes and other warm coffee beverages.
Oat milk is also thicker and naturally slightly sweeter than most non-dairy milk alternatives, but it is still light and healthy.

Is an oat milk latte healthy?

How to make an oat milk latte:
STEP 1 - Brew an espresso. You can choose to make a single shot or a double shot of espresso for your latte.
STEP 2 - Froth your oat milk. This can be done using a milk frother, but if you do not have a milk frother there are other alternative methods (find in the section below).
STEP 3 - Pour the prepared espresso into a serving mug or glass.
STEP 4 - Top with the warm frothed oat milk and enjoy immediately.
How to froth your milk without a frother:
METHOD 1 - Stovetop
You can froth your oat milk by placing it in a small saucepan over medium heat. Then use a whisk to froth the milk as it warms up - this should take 2 - 5 minutes.
METHOD 2 - Blender
To froth your milk using a blender, warm the milk up using a microwave or stovetop. Place the warm milk in a high-speed blender and blend until frothy - this should take about 1 minute. (Be sure to first check that your blender can handle hot liquids if using this method)
Oat Milk Latte Variations
- Sweetening: You can sweeten your latte with sugar, sweetner, agave syrup, or maple syrup. You can also use honey to sweeten your latte as a non-vegan option. The amount you add to sweeten your latte is dependent entirely on your personal preference. TIP: I find mixing the sweetner into the hot espresso works best.
- Decaf option: You can still enjoy a delicious latte without any caffeine by using decaf coffee when making your latte.
- Vanilla: Add a dash of vanilla extract to your latte to turn it into a delicious vanilla oat milk latte drink.
