This gorgeous Layered Berry Smoothie is not only beautiful but simply delicious and packed with antioxidants.
Who else could live on smoothies? Everything from smoothie bowls to smoothies that taste more like dessert than anything else. I am simply obsessed with smoothies. I recently came across thee most beautiful and most delicious smoothie I have ever seen over at Broma Bakery. I was so inspired by it that I decided I would give my own version a go. Okay mine may not have turned out quite as beautiful. But I promise it is still absolutely delicious and also packed with tons of antioxidants.
These layered smoothies are so gorgeous and allow you so much room to play. You could pretty much take a mixture of 3 different smoothies (maybe a papaya ginger smoothie, a kale smoothie & a berry smoothie) and create the ultimate layered smoothie. Okay that was a good idea and I’m totally going to do that next ;).
For this Layered Berry Smoothie I did 3 different layers using more or less the same ingredients. The first layer consisted of mostly mixed frozen berries that I whizzed up in my Nutribullet. The second layer I added a few less berries and used mostly blueberries (but any berries and all berries will do). And last but not least, the top layer consisted of mainly bananas, some chia seeds and only a couple of berries, just to give it that touch of colour. In order to achieve the layered look, you do need to freeze the layers in between, just for about 20min. If you don’t do this, the layers will all mix together BUT it will still be totally delicious and healthy. So don’t worry if you don’t have the time to wait. The layers will still sort of be there if you pour it gently but they might mix together a bit (like my raspberry pineapple smoothie).
