Easy Strawberry Smoothie Bowl

Jump to Recipe

Breakfast food is my favourite thing... that's no secret around here. In our house I'm always on breakfast duty (not that I'm complaining) so I'm always on the hunt for new ideas that are quick and easy to make, yet still easy.

I'm really trying to make breakfast a priority in 2019 because even though breakfast is my favourite meal, I don't always grant myself the time to create something delicious.

I also feel like spending time (even just a little time) to create something different for breakfast really sets the tone for my day. It gets those creative juices flowing just a little and then sitting down and allowing myself 30 minutes in the morning to enjoy my cup of coffee and breakfast just gives an immediate calm vibe to my day.

I'm obvs a smoothie bowl addict (hence the fact that I created a list of my favourites) so 2019 had to be kicked off with a fresh summery smoothie bowl.

I originally created this recipe for Goldcrest so this recipe can be made even if strawberries aren't in season, yay! But feel free to use fresh, frozen or canned strawberries for this guy.

As far as toppings go, this is the best part! You get to mix it up here, play around with different textures and flavours. I LOVE adding coconut flakes to my bowls and of course granola, although I'm a little weary of adding granola because I'll easily add the entire bag of granola and end up wondering why my breakfast wasn't actually sooo healthy! So don't go too crazy with the toppings if you are trying to keep the calories low, but have fun with them. You can use the same smoothie bowl base and simply change the toppings everyday and you'll never get bored!
