Brace yourselves for a whole lot of donut recipes! Not only because I am slightly addicted to donuts but mainly because we started a donut stall. A little random I know, but what can be more amazing that sharing your love for donuts with the world right? 😉 I get to spend my weekends coming up with all kinds of donut creations and then on top of it I make a little money from sharing that donut love.
We make baked donuts because while krispy kreme is delicious, I love baked donuts because they are healthier but they are also more substantial and you can play around a little more with the flavours of the actual donut, not just the glaze. I have made a few baked donuts in the past, my all time favourite is definitely the Baked Chai Donuts, but the Pumpkin Donuts are a close second.
These Baked Chocolate Cake Donuts Topped With Nutella Glaze right here are our top sellers. Why you ask? Well probably because they have Nutella on them, and anything with Nutella on it can only be delicious! But also because these donuts are just darn delicious on their own.
The Baked Chocolate Cake Donuts Topped With Nutella Glaze take about 15min to whip up and only bake for around 10min so they are incredibly easy to make, and way less effort and fatty than making fried donuts. It's probably less effort than driving to Krispy Kreme ;).
All you have to do is whip up the batter, pour it into your Donut Pan (I use this Wilton's Donut Pan) and then bake them. Top them with some delicious Nutella glaze and perhaps some crushed nuts and you have the most perfectly delicious, and slightly healthier Donuts, that everyone will love.

Baked Chocolate Cake Donuts Topped With Nutella Glaze
Ingredients
For the Donuts:
- 3 Eggs
- 245 g Sugar
- 100 g Flour
- 55 g Cocoa Powder sifted
- 135 ml Milk
- 2 tsp Vanilla
- 160 g Butter soft
- 2 tsp Baking Powder
For the Nutella Glaze:
- 1 Cup Powdered Sugar
- 2 Tbsp Nutella
- 4-6 tsp Milk
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- Nuts or Sprinkles to top optional
Instructions
For the Donuts:
- Preheat oven to 180ºC/350ºF and spray Donut Pan with non-stick spray.
- Combine the milk,eggs and vanilla together.
- In another bowl, sift the dry ingredients together.
- Add the dry ingredients to the milk mixture a little at a time, alternating with the butter.
- Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated.
- Spoon the batter into the donut pans until they are about ¾ full.
- Bake the donuts for 10-15min or until a fork inserted comes out clean.
- Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly before glazing.
For the Nutella Glaze:
- Mix all the ingredients together until smooth.
- Dunk each donut into the glaze and place on a wire rack to dry slightly.
- Sprinkle with nuts.
- Devour.
