3 Layer Watermelon Gelatin Cubes... whaaat? Okay I know it sounds like something either from space or from Masterchef (let's go with this one), but I'm telling you these are one of the easiest "fancy"desserts to make!
Christmas time in South Africa is amazing. It is unlike how I would imagine it to be on the Northern side of the world. Even though it always looks so magical and cosy to have a white Christmas, there is something to be said about a HOT Christmas like we have over here. The days are long and sunny, everyone is relaxed, having cocktails around the pool, it is just such a happy and festive time. BUT the last couple of days have just been unbearably hot. To the point where you just can't do anything. This is where WATERMELON comes to the rescue.
If I am one hundred percent honest, watermelon isn't exactly my favorite fruit. But when on hot days like today (and pretty much every day lately) watermelon does tend to get the job done in terms of cooling you down. So in the spirit of making things look festive and also making things a whole lot cooler, I made this pretty darn cool looking dessert, the 3 Layer Watermelon Gelatin Cubes.
These 3 Layer Watermelon Gelatin Cubes are simple to make, they look amazing and they taste delicious and fresh. As the name says, it consists of 3 layers. The base layer being only watermelon, the middle layer a watermelon and yoghurt layer and the top layer being a condensed milk layer. Sounds fabulous doesn't it?
3 Layer Watermelon Gelatin Cubes isn't a fancy dessert, even though it may look that way. It is actually just jelly, but add 2 more layers and cut it into cubes and bam! you have an amazing looking dessert that both the adults and kids will love.
