Instructions
For the Cake:
Sift the salt, baking powder, cocoa powder and flour together and set aside.
In a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream the butter and sugar together then add the eggs and vanilla and continue to mix.
In a separate bowl combine the buttermilk and coffee.
Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the coffee mixture.
Add the yoghurt, vinegar, food colouring and bicarbonate of soda and mix until just combined.
Dived the mixture between 4 round cake tins.
Bake for 35-40 min or until a fork inserted comes out clean.
Allow to cool before frosting.
For the frosting:
Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add the remaining ingredients and continue to mix until everything is incorporated and you have a creamy consistency.
Putting it all together:
Use a round cookie cutter to cut circles out of the centre of 3 of the layers. Keeping one of the circles for later.
Pipe a little frosting on one layer of cake and continue the process until they are all stacked on top of each other.
Use a spatula or knife to spread
Place the cake in the fridge for 20min to allow the layers to set a little.
Fill the centre of the cake with your favourite M&M's and Skittles.
Top the cake with the circle of cake that you set aside earlier.
Use a knife or spatula to cover the outside of the cake with frosting.
Top with your favourite flowers or more candy!
