These Easy Chocolate Fondants are incredibly simple to whip together and are the most delicious molten chocolate treats ever. It is gooey chocolate decadence at its best.
4Lindt Lindor Chocolate Balls(blocks of chocolate will also work)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 200C and grease four ramekins.
In a medium pot, melt the chocolate, butter, and coffee together.
In a mixing bowl, beat the sugar, eggs, and egg yolks until light and fluffy.
Add the chocolate mixture and flour to the egg mixture.
Gently fold together until just combined.
Pour the mixture into the prepared ramekins and add a chocolate ball (or block of chocolate) to the centre of each ramekin.
Bake for 13 - 16 minutes at 200C.
Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
It is is important to grease your fondant moulds incredibly well - and dariole moulds (small pudding basins) work best for this recipe.
Oven temperatures vary greatly – so if your oven runs hot these cakes will cook faster and they will become too firm in the centre so adjust cooking time accordingly. You may want to test the recipe with one fondant before baking the rest.
Leftover chocolate fondants can be reheated for a few seconds in the microwave before serving.
If your lava cake is really moist and soft on top then it probably needs a few more minutes of baking.
Leave the fondants to cool for a few minutes before serving. This cooling time allows them to firm up slightly to the perfect consistency.
