The Ultimate Guide: To Starting A Profitable Blog

The Ultimate Guide: To Starting A Profitable Blog - Start your own blog by following these 3 easy steps and you could be your very own boss in no time.

Start a blog in 3 easy steps and learn how to make money from blogging

Starting A Blog

I've been dwelling over whether I should write this post or not for some time. Because I haven't exactly been blogging for years or made millions from blogging...yet ;). But I am extremely passionate about blogging and I figured that I would write as I learn. This way everything is still fresh in my mind and it would be more honest as to how I have done everything and set up my blog.

So setting up a blog is really pretty easy. It's once you get into the nitty-gritty of everything that surrounds blogging that things get a little tough. But today we will start with all the easy stuff. a.k.a How do I start a blog? I know when I started my blog, all I wanted was someone to tell me in basic, easy-to-understand terms how to do it.

But it seems all the info out there is surrounded by technical mambo jumbo and too many words haha. So before I start getting carried away as well... let's jump into it.

So here it is The Ultimate Guide: To Starting A Profitable Blog. Once you have implemented these steps you can focus on Making Your Blog Pretty and really turn it into something that you are proud of and that you identify with.

The Three Steps To Starting A Blog

The Ultimate Guide: To Starting A Profitable Blog is really easy to follow and literally only contains 3 super easy steps! Insane right?

Step 1:

The first thing may seem pretty obvious, but it is the most important of all things. Decide on a name. Choose a name for your blog that best reflects who you are and what you want your blog to be. And choose it wisely... this will be your blog name now and forever. So speak now or forever hold your peace ;).

I would suggest writing down everything that you want to blog about, how you want your blog to look as well as the feel you want your blog to give off. Then, decide on a name. Once you have decided, you have to check that the domain is available. This can be horrible because often you think you have finally come up with a clever and fabulous blog name, only to find out that it already exists.

So I've attached this little Bluehost box where you can directly type in ANY name you might consider just to see if it's available. If I'm completely honest, I must've typed in about a hundred names before FINALLY finding one that didn't exist.

Check your Domain Name here:

Step 2:

The next thing to do is to buy your domain name as well as your web hosting. I used Bluehost to do both of these, simply because I found it way easier to do both in one place and at the same time. But it is possible to buy your domain through another company and still have your website hosted through Bluehost. I’ve found Bluehost to be great, and I haven’t had any problems whatsoever with them. In fact, they are extremely good with all customer support.

I chose the Starter Pack because it was all I needed. It offers you 1 Domain name (which is all I need) and all your web hosting needs. It even provides you with the opportunity to set up a personalised email address/account specifically for your domain (which is awesome and looks professional).

What is also great, it is pretty cheap at only $3.49 per month. So once you've decided on your domain name... and made sure it's available. Simply click signup, then type in your domain name, fill in all your details and there you go. They really do make it pretty easy for you.

Step 3:

Because Bluehost is so awesome, you don’t even need to download WordPress. It can all be done in your Bluehost account.  Once your in your account and all signed up, all you have to do is go to the section labelled MOJO Marketplace,  choose “One Click Installs” and then select WordPress.  From there on you will be guided through the process of installing WordPress and it shouldn’t take you more than a couple of minutes. Super easy right?

I really hope this helped and that you will have your blog up and running in no time. Subscribe to my blog to stay updated with all my latest blogging tips.
